American Kenpo

American Kenpo Karate is a study in the science of motion, with roots in Chinese martial arts. It is a system of teaching movement and combat skills that has been designed to be tailored to the individual practitioner. A thinking man’s martial art, this system was founded and developed in the 1950s in Pasadena by Senior Grand Master Ed Parker.

DEALING WITH COVID - PROTOCOL AND RULES

Great news! We are in the Red Tier for LA County, that means will be Re-opening our in person Group Classes APRIL 26TH 2021 ! Zoom classes will still be available during this time as well We MUST follow all guidelines according to the CDC in order for us to operate safely. Please locate the hand sanitizer station next to the front door and next to the bathroom. We are taking extra measures to make sure everything is clean and sanitized in between EVERY class. We use Anti-bacterial disinfectant designed for martial arts mats, germicidal bleach water, and lysol spray to clean the dojo. To make sure our classes do not over fill, we are separating them by age group now, please look at the new schedule down below.

RULES INDOOR CLASSES:
1. Students must come dressed and ready to train. To avoid heavy traffic in the changing room, it will be closed
2.Students must wear mask and maintain 6 feet apart, there are designated spots on the mats for each student to have their own personal bag and space to train.
3. No outside food in lobby, only water. To avoid people eating and having their masks off in the Dojo we ask that you only bring water or sports drinks for people training.
4. Students must have their own personal equipment. Their own set of gloves, foot gear and head gear. We will not be loaning out equipment.

We are super excited to see everyone in person again. Thank you so much for everyone's loyalty and patience during these times. They have been trying but we are KENPO STRONG! Stay calm and Kenpo On!!!

Testimonials

"Hello Justin,
Watching you work with And speak from your heart to Elliot is a gift that I am so very grateful for. When you work with him you have such calm clarity and gentle command of the situation.   I have my own wisdom and love to share with him and guidance to give but I  can not speak to him with the same words and wisdom that he gets from you. I am eternally grateful for your tutelage. It is not often that we find people who can speak and work in the words and ways that touch us deeply but you have a gift to speak with and teach children’s spirits. Thank you! You make a HUGE difference in Elliot’s life."
